Education & Vocation Services
Hillside partners with families to help provide individualized education services that address the broad challenges children can face when it comes to learning, academic success and graduation. We collaborate with community partners, the New York State Education Department and local school districts to offer academic and vocational education, mental health treatment and behavioral support in a therapeutic, caring environment.
At Creekside, Hillside partners with Monroe #1 BOCES to offer academic and vocational education in combination with mental health treatment for children.
Hillside Day Treatment programs are designed for students that experience significant challenges in school and or the community which impact their academic performance and/or social development. Our Day Treatments are licensed schools by the New York State Education Department and the Office of Mental Health. We provide special education programming for students that have an Individual Education Plan.
This collaboration with and Monroe #1 BOCES provides a supportive environment for youth in grades 9-12 who have emotional challenges that affect their ability to succeed in traditional academic settings.
Therapeutic education services at Hillside are offered at residential campus schools, day treatment centers and day school programs. All programs are approved by the New York State Education Department and all teachers and teaching assistants are certified by the State of New York.
This nationally recognized program helps students stay in school and achieve their goals of earning a high-school diploma and developing skills to help them succeed at work.
This program provides intensive support services to kinship families with legal custody or an informal care arrangement of youth to age 18, with a goal to support and strengthen families, promote permanency and ensure the well-being of kinship children.

This program offers a structured small group therapeutic environment helping students overcome the emotional and behavioral challenges that interfere with learning.
Hillside’s 24-hour phone resource team responds to questions, crisis counseling, referrals or concerns from families and funders.
