Hillside has officially received another four-year reaccreditation from the Council on Accreditation (COA), an international, independent nonprofit organization that accredits human and social service providers.

“COA’s rigorous review process sets the standard for human services organizations like Hillside, and their endorsement reflects the high quality of services that we provide to youth, adults, and families,” said Maria Cristalli, Hillside President and Chief Executive Officer.

The accreditation process involves a thorough documentation review and site visits to all residential facilities, as well as interviews with families and children served by Hillside, along with strategic partners, staff and Board members.

During a multi-day November visit to Hillside sites, the COA team reviewed 27 distinct standards, 17 of which apply to Hillside services and 10 to administrative practices. Ultimately, every eligible Hillside program was reaccredited by COA—47 programs in all—resulting in the agency’s re-accreditation through April 30, 2026.
