  • The Rochester Women’s Giving Circle donated $100,000 to support a new Career Navigator program for young women in Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection (HW-SC).
  • HW-SC President Augie Melendez wrote an essay for the Democrat & Chronicle, on the outstanding graduation rate achieved by Rochester City School District seniors in the 2014-2015 school year.
  • Buffalo Public Schools are working with Hillside and other community organizations on a community schools movement that relies on outside services to help eliminate obstacles that can prevent youth from achieving a successful education.
  • Hillside is an active partner in ongoing efforts to help revitalize Rochester’s Beechwood and EMMA (East Main, Mustard and Atlantic) neighborhoods, and break the cycle of poverty for those who live there.
