All of Hillside congratulates Augustin Melendez, Chief Human Resources & Organizational Development Officer, for earning recognition as a 2020 HR Executive of the Year by the Rochester Affiliate of the National Human Resources Association (NHRA).
Melendez joined Hillside in 2013 as President of Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection, and took on his current role four years later. He has a long history of HR leadership at other leading organizations, including Eastman Kodak Company, Paychex and the Rochester City School District.
Melendez was among the honorees recognized in the Large Employer category of the annual competition from NHRA, which provides an active forum for the exchange of information and ideas related to human resources.
“We are lucky to have a large pool of talented HR professionals in the greater Rochester business community,” said Jennifer Steier, who co-leads the association’s sub-committee tasked with supporting the HR Executive of the Year program. These awards, she added, “are our way of recognizing key contributors who go above and beyond for their organizations, their peers, and the HR community.”
He and his fellow finalists were to be honored at a luncheon earlier this year; the event was postponed due to the pandemic, but all honorees will be invited to next year’s HR Executive of the Year ceremony.
